Rhode Island Campsites

There are a number of places for you to go camping in Rhode Island. However, it is important to note that not all of them are open year round and that Block Island does not allow camping at any time.

Summer time Campsites

Echo Lake (Pascoag)- room for 150 trailers and 100 full hookups
George Washington Management Area (Gloucester)- 45 sites for trailers or tents
Whippoorwill Hill Family Campground (Foster)- 140 trailer sites and some tent sites
Melville Ponds Campground (Portsmouth)- 70 trailers and 63 tent sites
Charlestown Breachway Campground –75 trailers
Hickory Ridge Family Campground (Coventry)-200 trailer sites, 100 full hook ups
Wardens Pond Family Campground (Wakefield)-125 trailers, 75 tents

Open Spring, Summer & Fall

Burlingame State Park (Charlestown) - 365 tent
sites and 365 trailer sites

Wintertime Only

Oak Embers Campground (Greenwich) - 45 trailer sites and 15 tent sites

For Horse Lovers only

Legrand G. Reynolds Horsemen’s Camping Area (Exeter) - Get your permits and make payments at Arcadia Management Area headquarters.
